A Day Trip to Edgar Evins State Park on Center Hill Lake
Just 65 miles east of Nashville, Edgar Evins State Park sits tucked into the steep, hilly Eastern Highland Rim — close enough for a spontaneous Saturday, remote enough to feel like a genuine escape. The park stretches across 6,000 acres along the shores of Center Hill Lake, one of Tennessee’s most beautiful reservoirs, and a single day here gives you more than enough to fill it.

If You Want to Stay Longer
Edgar Evins is well set up for an overnight or a full weekend. The campground has 60 tent and trailer sites with electrical and water hookups, plus nine primitive walk-in sites for those who want to go quieter. The park also has cabins available to book on-site — a solid option if you want the lake without the tent.
This is just one of the state parks on Center Hill Lake. Be sure to check out Burgess Falls and Rock Island State Park. There’s plenty to see and do at the lake.
